(Deut 31:1-8, Mt 18:1-5,10,12-14).

I have often heard that: OUR LIVES COULD BE THE BIBLE SOMEONE OUT THERE WILL READ AND BE CONVERTED. St. Francis of Assisi confirms that today, because being an outstanding preacher of the word of God, gave a Lenten Sermon in the Church of St. George at Assisi (Italy), in 1212, that so much INSPIRED ST. CLARE (18years then, from a noble family), TO GIVE HER LIFE TO CHRIST IN CHRISTIAN POVERTY.

On the night of PALM SUNDAY in 1212, accompanied by her Aunt Bianca, CLARE left for the Church of Our Lady of the Angels, where she met Francis and his Brothers who cut off her long and golden hair, and presented her a coarse tunic and veil to Christ’s service in utter poverty. I pray that my own daily preaching and life style will also inspire many to embrace Christ. Amen!

Brethren, as much as you have ROLE MODELS (inspirational figures), so also YOU ARE A ROLE MODEL TO OTHERS. The question that thus looms large is: IN WHAT DO YOU INSPIRE PEOPLE? GOOD OR BAD? THE WAYS OF THE LORD OR OTHERWISE? However, having been inspired by St. Francis, CLARE also became an inspirational Figure to her younger sister (St) Agnes who joined her at the Benedictine Convent. The next few years also saw her own mother, (Blessed) Ortolana, another of her sister, Beatrice, and her aunt Bianca all placed themselves under her direction. Her ORDER OF POOR CLARES grew rapidly and she became a CONFIDANT of two Popes, Cardinals and Bishops, and numerous others who came to consult her.

Beloved in Christ, WHAT WAS HER SECRET THAT SHE COULD INSPIRE SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE SHE DID? Simply her TOTAL CHILD-LIKE TRUST, OBEDIENCE AND DEPENDENCY ON JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT. One day enemies of the Church were about to attack the Convent where they stayed. St. Clare had the BLESSED SACRAMENT placed in a MONSTRANCE above the gate of the convent and kneeling before it, she prayed for HELP. Suddenly, the enemies fled! During her illness of TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS, THE HOLY EUCHARIST WAS HER STRENGTH. Child of God, make it a point of duty to visit JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT, AND YOUR LIFE SHALL BE TRANSFORMED….

Sing with me please: When we walk with the Lord, in the light of His word…………! Trust and Obey……….!

God bless you!
